Birungi Bagenda – Managing Director | Uganda
Birungi has over 16 years experience in Financial Services in emerging and developed markets. She began her career handling Global Custody transactions and conducting Mutual Fund Analysis for some of the largest financial institutions in the United States including Mellon Trust, Deutsche Bank and Bank of America. In Uganda, Birungi served as Head of Investor Services for Stanbic Bank Uganda and managed the Financial Institutions Portfolio in Stanbic’s Corporate & Investment Banking Division and subsequently headed the the high value customer segment for Orient Bank Uganda. Birungi’s strong faith and Christian values are what led her to join the Mango Fund. She was inspired by the Funds objective to add value and impact communities.
Alexandre “Alex” Ponton – Lead Investment Analyst | Uganda
Alex joined Mango Fund in May 2015 through a placement with Engineers Without Borders Canada. Alex brings a passion for economic development and global investments as well as experience in finance. Prior to joining Mango Fund, Alex worked for CPP Investment Board in their Private Investments Group where he focused on global credit and infrastructure transactions. His deep interest in solving poverty through market-based solutions and financial innovation, and his passion for working with entrepreneurs is what ultimately led him to Mango Fund.
Alex holds a bachelor of commerce from McGill University with a major in Finance.
Mark Musinguzi - Investment Analyst | Uganda
Mark joined Mango Fund in July 2016 as an Investment Analyst. Prior to joining Mango Fund, Mark worked with Stanbic Bank Uganda in areas of Financial Services, Credit risk management and Credit analysis over the previous eight years. Mark has a passion for investments as a way of empowering communities.
Mark holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology and is currently pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation as a level III candidate. Mark is a member of the CFA Society of East Africa.
Robinah Biribonwa - Portfolio Manager | Uganda
Robinah is a finance and Microfinance Specialist with 14 years of experience in Business and Administration. She joined Mango Fund in February 2016 as a Portfolio Manager. She has a great passion for working with entrepreneurs and helping them meet their dreams.
Prior to joining Mango Fund, Robinah worked with The Hunger Project Uganda as the Head of the Microfinance. She was later given the responsibility to oversee the microfinance program for The Hunger project global network in the Anglophone countries. Robinah also worked with Ecumenical Church Loan Fund Uganda (ECLOF-Uganda) as a Credit Supervisor/Analyst overseeing the entire microfinance operations of ECLOF Uganda. She has also worked with various SACCOs and credit cooperatives across Uganda.
She holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with specialization in Accounting and Finance and a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science – Economics and social Administration.
Moses Kamanyire - Investment Officer | Uganda
Moses is a self-driven professional who has a strong passion for issues of development and financial service delivery for entrepreneurs. Moses joined Mango Fund in April 2016 as an investment officer. Before joining Mango Fund, Moses worked for Letshego Uganda Kampala in their micro finance division, overseeing the success of SME loans. He also worked 10 years at Finca Uganda as a loans supervisor, overseeing the entire portfolio growth and collection efforts of various branches in Kampala, Masindi and Fort Portal. Finally, he also worked for ECLOF Uganda Micro Finance division as a satellite supervisor. Moses has a great passion for working with entrepreneurs and helping them meet their objectives.
Moses holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business studies with a specialization in Accounting and a higher diploma in marketing from Uganda College of commerce.
Lucy Pinyoloya - Investment Officer, Northern Region | Uganda
Lucy graduated from Uganda College of Commerce Aduku with a diploma in Business Studies. She also holds a diploma in Public Relations and Media Management from Cavendish University.
For the past two years, Lucy worked with Uganda Small Scale Industries Associations as the Regional Coordinator and distinguished herself with her wide range of experience in entrepreneurship development, knowledge transfer, and resourcefulness. Lucy’s role with USSIA was a key part of the large number of clients that came to Mango Fund through her regional expertise, strong reputation, and excellent relationship building skills.
Her passion for entrepreneurs is very evident to anyone who meets her, especially for the women in Northern Uganda to be empowered in their entrepreneurial activities through technical assistance, value addition, and market linkages.
Daniel Murungi - Investment Officer | Uganda
Daniel joined Mango fund in July 2016 as an investment officer. Before Mango Fund, Daniel worked with Bayport financial services as a quality control and collections officer. He later joined Vision Fund Uganda as a loans officer dealing with the active poor. He subsequently worked at EFC Uganda Ltd and Letshego Uganda Ltd respectively serving as an SME Credit officer. Throughout his career of over 8 years, he has had an opportunity to interact with a wide variety of clients from various backgrounds and aspects of society. Daniel is a considerate person who always looks to find creative solutions to meet client’s unique needs.
Daniel holds a B.A. Economics degree from Makerere University.
